Artist of the Month – Fröken Ella

Annelie Asp is not your usual artist. A few years back she was working a 9 to 5 job at a bank here in Stockholm. Today however, you won’t find her handling anyone else’s money besides her own. She ended up quitting her day job to pursue her newfound passion for art head on. Now she can be found bouncing around to loud music in her studio working on her latest piece. She’s a fan of using a large canvas and says she can get quite unpredictable with her work – splashing paint all over and using everything from her fingers to knives to finish her art.

Check out her website and her online portfolio here!

When did you know you wanted to become an artist?

I am still not sure, but I am loving it! I found out that I had this passion not too long ago. But I am so happy to get this opportunity to live this dream!

How did you develop your style as an artist?

I have always painted what I would love to hang on my own walls and hopefully others love it too. I do love to challenge myself and try new techniques and develop new expressions.

Why do you believe art is important?

I don’t think that it has to be about art, but rather that it is important to find that thing you are passionate about and whatever makes you feel good.

Which artists inspire you and why?

I get inspiration from anywhere and everywhere – sometimes from other artists. I’m inspired by the beauty and love of special people and souls around me.

Who is this Fröken Ebba?

Well, it is what it is… A new start and the new me, Annelie 2.0! Ella’s strong and has got attitude!
