April 9th – International G&T day

Posted on

Yup, that’s right. April 9th is just another excuse to drink a classic – Gin and Tonic. Apparently the drink is such a classic that there are TWO International Gin and Tonic days, April 9th and October 19th.

A classic G&T is often enjoyed simply with a few larger blocks of ice and a lime squeezed in to the drink, then placed in the glass. A good tonic like Fever Tree or the classic Schweppes paired with a good choice of gin like Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray lighten the mood of any social situation. This drink is best enjoyed outside on a warmer day and couldn’t have come at a better time of year for us in Stockholm.

Usually a 1:3 ratio is served but many (including myself) have been known to make it a 1:1 ratio, with double lime. Feel free to experiment with a lemon, orange or even a grapefruit slice as a garnish for that added flair!

And of course, if you don’t have the time or can’t decide on which gin or which tonic to drink on Sunday, come on up to Kaknästornet’s Skybar and we’ll make one for you while you sit back and enjoy the amazing view over Stockholm.
